About Your Montessori School
Your Montessori School began in 2017 with a Toddler Community and dreams of a Primary Program. In 2019 that dream came true when YMS opened a small Primary Program in Arden. In 2020 both programs were combined at the Arden location where YMS has blossomed. Located in a converted home, YMS has a warm atmosphere which helps make YMS the amazing place that it is...a place where teachers enjoy teaching, families get to know one another and children learn the Montessori way!

The Montessori trained lead teachers and knowledgeable assistants follow the natural development and curiosity of the children. We offer opportunities to explore and discover the world around us with the amazing Montessori curriculum. Come and experience education the Montessori way.
YMS is dedicated to anti-bias and anti-racist teaching. We model acceptance of all people, have challenging conversations with the adults around us about social justice and our own shortcomings. At YMS, we are committed to prioritizing children and teachers of color.

Our Program

We offer a half day primary program that runs from 8 a.m. to noon with 2, 3, 4, and 5 days options.

Primary Program
The Primary Classroom is a safe and loving prepared environment that focuses on the amazing cognitive and social-emotional development of three to six year olds. The Primary Montessori curriculum includes purposeful activities that call to the young child because they offer opportunities to move, to explore, and to discover through active work, Much of this "work" contributes to the community by caring for one another and our environment. We build a sense of friendship and community with these young yet mighty children.
The Primary Classroom highlights a mixed age classroom with individualized lessons and one-on-one learning experiences. We also offer plenty of active and group time which fosters positive social-emotional development and community building. At these ages, children begin to understand the world around them in new ways that capture their intellectual and creative curiosity. The Montessori method works with this curiosity at each turn to instill a love of learning, subject mastery, independence, and confidence. The curriculum for this age includes math, language, art and music, practical life activities, culture, and sensorial activities. Click here for more information about sensorial activities.
